For this pattern I used:
Bernat Chunky in Soft Teal, 5x balls per pillow
Susan Bates Knitting Needles: 25mm (US 50)
Two 20” square (52 cm) pillow forms, 1 yd. (1m) matching thread and sewing needle, Yarn needle.
ALL IN ONE Dark brown large 4 hole sewing wood buttons with wide edge 2’’ (5mm)
You will need 3 buttons per pillow.Gauge: 3sts = 4” (10cm)5 rows = 4” (10cm) in stockinette stitch. Check your gauge, use any size needles to obtain the gauge Pillows are 20” (51 cm)
Pillow Covers: Using the long tall cast on method, cast in 17sts.
Row 1 (RS) *K1, P1: repeat from * across
Row 2 and 3: Continue to work in K1, P1 ribbing
Change to St st (Knit on the right side, purl on wrong side)
Work in St st until piece measures 39 ½ “(100cm) from cast on.
Work K1, P1, ribbing for the next two rows.
Blind off in K1, P1 ribbing.
With right side facing, overlap rib section of back cover.
With yarn needle, sew side seams of pillow, sewing through three layers of fabric when you
reach the rib section.
With the yarn needle, weave in all loose ends.
Turn pillow right side out, with a sewing needle and thread, sew the buttons to the bottom
rib section starting at one side and placing buttons 3 ½ “(9cm) apart.
Insert pillow form and button the cover, slipping buttons through top rib sts to close.
K = Knit, mm = millimetres, P = Purl, RS = Right side, st(s) = stitches, St st = Stockinette Stitch, * = repeat whatever follows the * as indicated
